Finally a moment to sit down and write you a huge thank you for the fabulous still life workshop. I knew it would kick my butt technically but I had no idea that it would also be so affirming of the why of art making. I loved all our discussions and your ideas.
And technically the workshop was fabulous. I have been exposed to most of the concepts of the class at one time or another but never been able to make sense of them as a whole integrated process. It was a real breakthrough for me. It left me with lots to think about and practice in this next year. –Sarah S.
Thank you so much for the fun week! I felt that I have learned a lot not just about painting, but the way of living and to see art. I certainly will attend more of your workshops. –Eileen Z.
LOVE being in your workshops! The philosophical and practical blending you do satisfies so many different parts of my psyche that I always feel tremendously enhanced and advanced by any time spent with you! I think that you are remarkable and a treasure as an artist and a teacher, so thank you beaucoup and encore for all you have done and are doing to create beauty/truth and to help your students grow as humane artists! -Shyrl M.
This workshop was transformative. Within a mere week, I was given the tools to take my skills to a whole other level. I came to class stuck in a rut and discouraged with my progress and ended the week full of confidence and passion for making art. I highly encourage anyone who is ready to elevate their skill level to take a workshop. I will definitely be signing up for another.- Sarah T.
Juliette is an incredible artist and teacher. She teaches the fundamental drawing techniques, but goes way above and beyond - how to make your drawing truly artistic, how to find the gesture of a pose, never lose that gesture, and find meaning in art. Every time I get the opportunity to work with her, I leave more inspired, more dedicated, and more grateful for art. She is an artist and a person that I truly admire, and despite her great talent, she is one of the most modest and approachable person you'll ever meet. Her teaching style is fantastic and she works with students 1:1 to address where you are in your drawing process. – Ruth H.
Juliette Aristides is a fantastic teacher. It's always wonderful when she has the time to offer courses outside the atelier schedule. Rare events, rapidly sold out. Felt lucky to be there!- Stephanie H.
Juliette Aristides is patient, kind, attentive, helpful- she could not be a better instructor! Absolutely excellent!- Susan B.
I absolutely loved this course! Juliette is very approachable and was able to give a deep, thoughtful and helpful answer to every question from the class.- Anonymous
Juliette's still life workshop was a special opportunity. Her helpful critiques and informative lectures were inspiring Juliette generated a wonderful creative environment for us; it was simply a joy to work with her. This was a positive and life changing moment for me and I know that was true for everyone else. I did not want the class to end. I think that every artist should have a chance to enjoy such a wonderful experience.- Stephanie J.
It was a really wonderful experience and I feel I learned a lot. Juliette is incredible and I really appreciate that she is confident enough to take the position of “there are no absolutely right” answers and to show multiple approaches for everything from canvas preparation to the final painting. – Anonmyous
Excellent to see these types of courses offered for art students. Please keep your program going. – R. Eckstsein
Juliette’s critiques were spot on. Great prepared ness, loved the mini-lectures, discussions, slides and images of so much art. –Lolly S.
Juliette teaches with a great sensitivity and kindness- she gave very generously of her time and knowledge. -Coral Ann G.
Thank you for the wonderful master class you presented at PAFA this past weekend. Two days is way too short a time, but nevertheless I feel as though I learned enough to build on for quite awhile. The art school I attended in the 1960's did not teach representational art with any real rigor, and only in the past few years have I figured out that what was lacking in my work was the sort of traditional drawing skill that was scoffed at when I began my art training. Workshops such as the one you just gave at PAFA are precious resources for me as I attempt to fill in the gaps. You are a great teacher. Thank you so very much! Kathleen W.
I'm realizing what draws me to your instruction and your work. There is an honest, unfragmented naturalness; form beautiful, unadorned or rather unembellished. Thanks again for the PAFA workshop....it still inspires. – Jeane S.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful class! You are my hero!! :) I love the way that you teach! It's so personal, and enriching, and so...kind! Who knows, maybe it will be possible for me to study with you again? I hope that you can return at some point! You are a truly inspiring force!- Bronden
I enjoyed the demonstrations in combination with time to practice the approach being taught. It was great to finally get a class with Juliette and seeing inside her head and how she thinks about and makes art. -Anonymous
I thoroughly enjoyed what I learned and the process of learning. I liked the small class, proximity to the wonderful model and the lighting. Juliette’s calm excellent teaching approach and her comments regarding techniques, her passion and humility for drawing and also her personal critiques of our work and her demonstrations. I liked getting to know some of the other students and the chance to talk art and seeing and comparing their results. It was a very relaxing purposeful learning experience!- Anonymous
